"Berkshire Group Services has been my billing service since I went into private practice in November of 2003. I have been exceptionally happy with their service. The accuracy and timeliness of billing claims has been outstanding and my reimbursements have been excellent due to their fine work. They are always helpful, and if they don't know the answer to a question...they will find out. They seem to have good relationships with all of the insurers...and seem to be able to solve problems with those insurers easily.
And, of course, their charges to me are quite reasonable.

Case 1:
In the summer of 2003, a Primary Care Physican trying to restart a practice approached us. No income. No license. No credentials with any insurer. His hopes: $25,000.00 per month in gross revenue.
Berkshire Group Services completed his licensure, set up all of his intake systems, developed his fee schedule, credentialed him with all major insurers. As his practice evolved, and as the local market changed with employers switching insurers and networks, we kept his practice one step ahead of the local market changes.
Now, it's 2008. This PCP enjoys an average monthly gross revenue stream of just over $80,000.00. He is properly staffed in proportion to his patient population. His practice has grown by leaps and bounds, simply because his partnership with Berkshire Group has developed a practice that doesn't have many of the pitfalls that plague other practices. We linked this practice directly to a local hospital so that the cost of all laboratory services are absorbed, and billed by the hospital. We then provided at no charge to the hospital an area to provide laboratory work not only for this provider's patients, but to save patients from traveling across the city to the hospital lab. By doing this, we eliminated nominally profitable and money losing services, improved patient care by eliminating the need to go to the hospital for tests, AND improved walk-in traffic as patients going to the hospital lab within the office decided to switch simply because of the convenience.
This is the type of advanced planning and practice management services that we provide.
| Case 2:
In 2008, this Medical Practice was living on a tight budget, doing it's own billing in-house. There were months when they struggled to meet payroll, and the doctors own salary checks sat uncashed. We were called in to evaluate the practice, and we assumed their billing in the fall of 2008.
From our evaluation, we felt that based on their patient flow, their revenue should be at least 25% more than what it was.
We changed patient intake procedures. Worked closely with their highly competent staff to change the way patient information is handled. We made corrections to their database, reviewed their coding, reviewed their fee schedule. We even obtained an administrative exception from a large insurer and got nearly 2 years of unpaid claims paid, all well beyond the timely filing requirements.
Today, the practice's monthly income ranges from 25% to 50% higher than what it was when we took over managing their billing.
